Wooosh, away with the dust.
Remember me?
I almost vanished there!
Marathal was sweet to write and check up on me, which made me realize, that an update is in order, because vanishing without a word really is not my thing.
I hope, that all of you beloved bloggers are well. I am not neglecting my blog or you, because I lost inspiration, but I am simply so busy elsewhere.
And one must go where the passion carries them, right π
Those of you who know me, also know, that I very much anticipate the arrival of Classic World of Warcraft. I thought I would just play it next to the Current version of the game, yet now, I am not so sure.
It feels as if it came out of nowhere, but the Officers and some of the Members in the Guild I led in the past, have suddenly started coming together, with all of their joy and excitement.
And so, the rebuild of my beloved social Guild has begun. I am beyond thrilled.
I have been blessed with the most amazing Officer team, I have ever had in my 14 years of playing World of Warcraft, and I am so grateful for them. Being able to rebuild what we had, before the Classic game has even launched, provides us with such a solid foundation, and it is where I now spend almost all of my spare time – and happily so.
As for the Current version of World of Warcraft, I hardly play anymore. I have roleplayed the last couple of months, but the activity was starting to drop at the same time, that my beloved members came together, so it makes it feel as if things happen for a reason;
I am now meant to draw on my 14 years of World of Warcraft and Guild experience to really make this Classic journey absolutely amazing.
I feel as if this Guild will be the culmination of everything, that I have learned in the past, and it is my hope, that Classic will make it easier to appeal to potential members, since I imagine, that players with a similar mindset to our own, will be drawn to Classic.
I am excited for the times ahead, and I look forward to the gameplay, that Classic has to offer. It just appeals so much more to me, and I cannot wait to slow down π
AlunariaΒ΄s Avenue is here to stay though, and once the roots of my Guild have grown strong, I will mix in a little blogging, when time allows for it. That is my hope.
Until then, I wish you all so well, and hope, that you still find joy in World of Warcraft.
Always remember to take a moment and appreciate all the little things, such as the gryphons in Battle for Azeroth and the way they drink water from time to time. π There is beauty all around us.
Have a fantastic – not too hot – not too cold – not too rainy – not too humid – not too dry – but just right – summer, and thank you for still visiting me here.
I will look forward to catch up π
~ Alunaria
Aw, I’m happy to hear from you again!! I thought about you a few times in the past weeks, because it was so quiet, so I’m glad to hear you’re fine π
Nice to hear your guild is coming together again and you have fun with them. I definitely wouldn’t mind reading about your classic adventures when it’s out. Wishing you the best for the future and lots of fun with your guild members π

Aw, thank you so much, Leto. How are you doing? π
IΒ΄ll be sure to write about Classic! I predict a heavy amount of screenshots to come, too. I adore the water in Classic π
Thank you so much again π Do you plan on playing Classic?

I’ll look forward to it π
I’ll check it out, I guess. Surely not on day 1, but sometime later when the “big storm” died down. I don’t think I’ll play it much tho. I can’t look at the old models for too long xD

Ah, I can understand that π I plan to do the same. It’s impossible to predict how it will go, too!
Aw, I look forward to see my old Night Elf again π

It would be interesting for me to read about others’ Vanilla journeys. I don’t think I’ll make it farther than 5-10 levels there, but still.

Thank you π I look forward to reading about that too. I am very curious to see the reaction Classic will have on…Well, everything, really.

Hey Alunaria!
So glad to see a post from you!
I know that the community seems split now between the existential crisis of Classic vs. Live, so I can understand your contemplation when it comes to the future for WoW. I hope, even as you revive your Classic guild and social circle, that you will still share amazing posts and memories to us here on your blog. We are all going to live under one subscription, so a WoW player is a WoW players, no matter the server or version number π
Since I started following your posts I have always appreciated seeing your perspectives on the game, both the story and the gameplay, and I will say that I readily enjoyed reading what you had to say on this or that. You validated my own stories about WoW, which was inspiring, and you always have the neatest projects.
When the time is right, I’ll be here to read anything you post. You’re a hero!

Hey there! What a sweet and considerate comment. Thank you so very much for your kind words.
I hope to share from my Classic adventures too π I imagine I might visit the Current version of the game, if anything, just to see the story at least.
Thank you so much again. I greatly enjoyed your stories, as you know. π
I hope to return soon and catch up as well!
Do you plan on playing Classic at all? π

I *am* eager to create a character and go back to the way it was when I first played. I started playing in 2006, so I’m pretty sure it’ll be a trip down memory lane to go back to places that changed in Cataclysm. For one, I know my friend and I spent many a day in Southshore. That’s the very spot where my buddy logged out for the last time (he is well, just doesn’t play WoW). It’ll be good to stand there again without blight and death all around… unless the Horde is coming!
I don’t know that I’m the target audience of the big launch, however, as I have generally enjoyed the quality of life changes made to World of Warcraft over the years, including the LFG tools and reduced time investments to reach end game. I grew strangely accustomed to WoW adapting to my lifestyle. I had less time each year and WoW found ways to shave off the time I needed to keep playing. I am thankful for it, though I understand many of the issues and complaints.
I hope Classic finds a happy audience and I hope that those who don’t enjoy Live servers find some kind of comfort in the olden days. I’m also keen on Blizzard using analytics and data on Classic to see what players *actually do* in Classic and use that data to help mold and implement changes to the live game over the next few expansions.
It’s an absolute win for everyone, as far as I can tell. I’m pretty optimistic on the subject, especially with the generally positive response of the Beta.

Oh, I wholeheartedly can relate to what you describe!
That being said, I can also understand where you are coming from; I know, that in Classic, I will not be able to run Dungeons, for example. Because I just do not have the time needed to do so. I can remember getting the Wildheart Kilt from Stratholme actually took me over 70 runs. If I were to do 70 runs for that now….Hah. I think it would take me over half a year, doing nothing but that. But oh, the accomplishment if it dropped, eh…!
I think I will end up playing the current version of WoW if I want to visit places, that are “easily accesible” there, but not in Classic, if that makes sense.
Yes, exactly, I am also very interested to see the impact you describe, and how Classic will influence everything. It is impossible to predict.
Me too, I feel as if the decisions Blizzard has made on Classic are great. And their reasoning behind it, even more so. It means a lot, what cause there is for the decision making. Like that oldschool no-armored version of the Nightsaber mount. I would have loved to get it. But it got removed not far into Vanilla. Blizzard decided not to include it this time around, in order not to have people feel “forced” to level quickly and gather gold, because they did not want to encourage that, as Classic should be about something else. I am okay with that π

Glad to see you around still. I too have taken less and less of a liking to current wow. I’m eager to give classic a try when it comes and in the meantime I’ve filled my free time with other games and activities.
I’ll be interested to see what all the bloggers do with classic!

Nice to see you posting! Assuming you are an alliance guild for classic? I think I have to play a Shaman, which I miss greatly from before they were homogenized. That also means horde only (for the first time, for me). If we don’t hear form you, have a great summer!

Yes, Alliance Guild, indeed. Aw youΒ΄re going Horde? I wish you good luck over there, then! And a great summer to you as well, of course π

Alunaria! I’m so glad to see you around again! I’ve been missing you. I was thinking that maybe I should send you an email, too.
I am happy for you that you’ve got a guild coming together for Classic. That’s going to make finding friends to do all those group quests and dungeon quests with so much easier — that necessary social aspect is a big barrier to me when I think about dipping my toes into Classic. I look forward to hearing your stories about your Classic adventures!
P.S. I β€ that outfit in the Darkshore Warfront picture

Aw, Kam, I missed you too! How have you been? π
Yes, it sure will, though I imagine the realms will be filled with players looking to do exactly that π
Yeah, I hear you. I already know, that there are things I will not be able to do, because of having too little time. But IΒ΄m alright with that, knowing it in advance. I look forward to quest in the old areas, so very much.
Thank you! That outfit was something out of the ordinary for me, so getting the Kam-approved-stamp means a lot! β₯

Hey there! That is so very sweet of you. Thank you so much. IΒ΄m so used to being on the “giving end” of such words, that itΒ΄s very new territory for me to be on the “receiving” end, if that makes sense.
So: Thank you again. It means a lot to me to hear that π You nudged me into making a Classic post today, IΒ΄ll tend to it shortly!
How are you doing, Azeroth, Brick-world π and the real world too? π
