The “Happy Thoughts” – Experiment – Day 11

On this, the 11th day of my experiment, I want to show appreciation for things in World of Warcraft, that remains the same.

When I first saw a datamined updated model of stags/reindeers, I was beginning to fear, that my favorite reindeer would have its model updated.

Granted, it might happen eventually, but until then, I am grateful to have Metzen look the exact same as he did the first time I helped rescue him in, was it Burning Steppes, back then?

So for all the things that still look the same, and bring back so many memories; for the soundtracks that have gone untouched to the few selected zones that, even if updated, has kept some of their original charm, thank you πŸ™‚

ItΒ΄s rare one is able to go back to the past in this way, and re-ignite the memories, but with World of Warcraft, and even more so, the upcoming Classic servers, we are able to re-visit, if just a fraction of everything we experienced so many years ago. And that is so precious to me.

  1. Happy New Year!
(iirc, we rescued Metzen from Dark Irons in Searing Gorge, but there was also a an extra big bad yeti in Alterac?)
I love the Metzen rescue. I make a point of talking to him, even if quest objective been checked off. πŸ™‚

    1. I feel that way too. Listening to it while, like, just doing the dishes, is so immersive, even after all these years, it instantly takes me back. I guess I spent so long in all the zones, compared to today, that it really sticks. Thank you, Happy New Year, Eppu!
